Easter 2009

Easter Sunday was a lot of fun this year. We started the day off with waking Allie up because the Easter Bunny had left a trail of Chocolate Eggs from Allie's bed out to the chair where he had left some other goodies. I was telling Allie that the Easter Bunny had left presents and that got no response on several attempts, I then said "Allie the Easter Bunny left candy" and still nothing not even a sigh and then Allan came and said "Allie there's chocolate" and her eyes immediately flew open and she was ready to wake up. She got down on the floor and crawled down the hall picking up the eggs and putting them into the basket. She could care less about the toys, she wanted the chocolate. We then went to church with my parents and listened to the beautiful music and the talks. Well, we tried to listen, it's very hard with a wiggly two year old climbing all over everyone. After church we headed out to Grandma's house where we visited, gave Galen a much needed Satin Hands treatment, ate way to much food and had an Easter Egg Hunt. Allie liked the eggs that made a rattling noise much better than the colored glitter eggs. Speaking of colored eggs. We had to buy the egg dye that had sparkles in them because they were"princess eggs". I can't really say that she's on a princess kick because she also likes winnie the pooh, elmo, giraffes, elephants, etc just as much. It's hard knowing what she's going to like and when she'll like it. I guess that' s part of being two.

Here she is shaking an egg and wearing her "princess dress"

It's fun to see Allie and Tessa interacting and playing together. When Jason, Nicki and Tessa got to Grandma Too's house (that's what Allie calls Grandma Hoxie) I could hear Tessa calling for Allie and Allie giggling as she tried to find Tessa. Smile Girls!

Cindi had hid eggs for Amanda, Galen and Travis and then she also hid an egg that had coins in it. If you found that egg you won a special prize. Well, Galen was the winner and his special prize was a huge chocolate easter bunny he was holding it up showing off what he won and Allie figured she needed to show off hers as well.

Because it was supposed to be a nice day, I had bought some sidewalk chalk and a little mermaid bubble set for the little kids to play with. Here's some of them enjoying the bubbles!

It was a very nice day spent with family. I love those moments and the memories they create.

I love that the little kids are all the boys in our family! Just goes to show that they might grow up but they never grow older! The girls are cute and I wish all the cousins could have been there but we're doing our own special easter this sunday so it will be just like everyone else's Jahnna said. We told her we saw the easter bunny at the hospital and he said to leave a note on the door when we were ready to do our own egg hunt when Colby was feeling better.
